Naval BRASS BEARINGS 3/4″-1 7/8″
Naval Brass or Metallic Sleeved Marine Bearings are:
- Environmentally friendly
- Withstand damage caused by corrosion
- Highly resistant to abrasion
Construction
Metallic sleeved marine bearings are installed as standard in propeller shafts, rudder tubes, stern tubes and struts.
Ingot bearings engineered from highly durable oil and chemical and abrasion-resistant nitrile rubber are then precision ground to give a smooth, accurate finish to maintain correct clearances between surfaces. Before shipping, all bearings undergo inspection for dimensional accuracy, rubber hardness and integrity.
Environmentally Friendly
Water being the perfect lubrication medium, it’s naturally abundant around marine vessels. It is non-compressible, cooling and has a low coefficient of friction when between the bearing strip and propeller shaft.
Custom sizes
Ingot Marine supplies a comprehensive range of standard naval brass bearings including sizes 2″-2 7/8″ through 3″-4 7/8″.
However, bespoke sizes can be quoted and manufactured upon request please speak to our friendly team today!
Abrasion and Wear
The internal shape of the bearing prevents particles from becoming embedded into the bearing surface, flushing abrasive particles into the rubber grooves and out of the system. This avoids damage to the propeller shaft, rudder or other working parts.
All water lubricated marine bearings will eventually experience wear in service. We recommend that bearings be inspected for wear whenever the vessel is brought out for service.
PHENOLIC BEARINGS
Manufactured from dense reinforced thermoset plastic, Ingot Marine offers a range of non-metallic phenolic bearings.
Phenolic bearings are engineered to suit applications where electrolysis is a problem through metal to metal contact.
Available for purchase in the following sizes 3/4″-1 7/8″, 2″-2 7/8″ and 3″-4 7/8″.
